Valencia hotels promoted in Las Vegas

The Valencia Tourist Office has decided to take part in this year’s Travel Mart tourist exhibition in Las Vegas in order to promote the hotels in this region of Spain. Travel Mart takes place in August every year and is recognised as a very important shop window where tour operators from both North and South America gather to see what is on offer from the top hotels and resorts from all over the world. There are many workshops during the six day exhibition during which many different countries and regions get the opportunity to sell the benefits of their best destinations and top hotels.

This is the first year that the region of Valencia will take part in this important tourism fair and the Tourist Office will be there to promote the region of Valencia and its hotels. Special emphasis will be placed on the urban hotels in Valencia city centre, as it is felt that the city’s attractions could hold particular cultural interest for travellers from the Americas. The luxury hotels in other parts of the region and its many coastal resorts will also be highlighted.

The tour operators attending the exhibition in Las Vegas will also be informed about the many festivals that take place annually in the Comunitat Valenciana which make the region an attractive stop during any visit to Spain. There are many important cultural events like the Fallas, the famous fireworks festival that takes place in March every year. There are many wine and other gastronomic festivals as well as great shopping areas and typical souvenirs from Valencia that are especially attractive to American tourists like Lladró ceramics. And, of course, there is the famous Tomatina, the tomato fight that takes place on the last Wednesday of August every year in the town of Buñol near Valencia.

The focus at Travel Mart is on attracting tourists with high purchasing power from both the United States and South America. These are people who travel regularly and often seek the security offered by large international hotel chains but are also attracted by smaller, charming hotels off the beaten track. When they visit Spain these travellers mainly go to hotels in Madrid or Barcelona to spend several days but, after the work of the Valencia Tourist office at Travel Mart, may be tempted to discover the many attractions of this wonderful region of Spain.
