New Travelodge hotel in Valencia

Low cost hotel chain Travelodge has opened its latest hotel in Spain in the area of Manises in Valencia after investing €10 million on the project.

The new hotel has 116 rooms and is located near the airport of Valencia and is connected to the city centre with two lines on the city’s metro system. The hotel also has a substantial area for parking and offers its customers a self service cafeteria. According to Travelodge, within just a few days of opening, their newest hotel in Spain is already registering an occupancy rate of 90%, most of whom are British guests. All the rooms in the Travelodge Valencia Airport have air conditioning / heating, work desk, plasma TV and Internet access.

The Travelodge hotel chain aims to have 100 hotels in Spain by 2020 by making an investment of some one billion euros. The hotel group has identified Spain as the second most important international destination for them after Ireland, given the favourable conditions for the growth of low-cost hotels in the country. The chain also plans to open a new hotel in Barcelona, where it already has one establishment, in spring 2013. The Rambla Poble Nou hotel will be opened after an investment of around €35 million. It will be located in the financial district of Barcelona and is projected to have 250 rooms.

Travelodge currently operates two hotels in Madrid, one in Las Rozas and another one in Torrelaguna, and yet another in L’Hospitalet just outside Barcelona. The new hotel in Valencia, along with the additional one that will soon be opened in the Catalan capital, will increase the Travelodge portfolio in Spain to 5 establishments and the group will soon have 602 rooms in total. The chain expects to start building the two new properties with a total of 295 rooms over the next six months.
