Hotels in Andalusia recognised by travel portal

Travel website TripAdvisor recently announced its ‘Travellers Choice’ hotel awards for 2013. One Spanish region that proved extremely popular with the users of the portal was Andalusia, where a total of 36 hotels won 43 awards. The hotels in this part of Spain have been receiving more and more awards in recent years demonstrating that they can compete with the top international hotels. The hotels in Malaga also performed well with 16 hotels in this part of Andalusia receiving a total of 21 awards.

In the category of ‘Best Luxury Hotel’ the Vincci Selection Aleysa Boutique & Spa located in Benalmádena in Malaga was a clear winner, gaining first place in the ‘Top Hotels in Spain’ section. Indeed, this hotel came 22nd in the list of all European hotels.

La Villa Marbella-Charming Hotel in the ever popular Spanish city won the category for ‘Best Service’ for the second consecutive year. Some guests who stayed at the hotel described it as “a hotel to fall in love with” and many said that it provided “extraordinary customer service.”

In addition, three other hotels in Andalusia were recognized in different categories. The Alma Sevilla Hotel Palacio de Villapanes was ranked 10th place in the category of ‘Top Hotels’ and 11th in the ‘Best Luxury Hotel’ section. Similarly, the Hospes Palacio del Bailio in Cordoba came 11th in the ‘Top Hotels’ section and 15th overall in the category of ‘Best Luxury Hotel in Spain’. The Marbella Heights Boutique Hotel was awarded seventh place in the ‘Small Hotels’ category and 13th overall in the ‘Best Service’ section.

Among other hotels that received awards in the ‘Best Quality/Price’ category were the Hotel Finca el Cerrillo in Malaga and the Hotel Albero in Granada. In the category of ‘Small Hotels’ the hotel Almunia del Valle in Granada, Hotel Casa 1800 in Seville and the hotel Cordoba Balcon also received recognition.

In all, in this eleventh edition of the TripAdvisor ‘Travellers Choice’ hotel awards, a total of 6,293 businesses across 82 countries were taken into consideration. The results of this years awards show that the hotels of Andalusia can hold their own with the best hotels world-wide.
