The Majestic Hotel in Barcelona belongs to the Majestic Hotel Group which was founded by the Soldevila Casals family in Spain in 1918.  They now have five hotels in total, four of which are hotels in Barcelona.  The original establishment of the group was the 5 star Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona, followed shortly afterwards by the three star Hotel Inglaterra in Barcelona city centre.

Since 2008 the group has two new unique establishments in the heart of Barcelona: the designer boutique hotel Murmuri and the innovative Denit hotel, a night & breakfast establishment aimed at young and cosmopolitan guests.

The first step in the internationalisation of the Majestic Hotel Group is the  boutique hotel Montalembert in Paris, located in the bohemian neighbourhood of Saint Germain des Prés.

The Hotel Group has also just signed a commercial partnership agreement with the Italian group Sina Hotels, which own and manage luxury establishments in Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan, among other Italian cities. The commercial agreement, which was finalised in May, aims to develop joint actions in the areas of sales and marketing, as they consider that Majestic Hotel Group in Spain and Sina Hotels in Italy will creat a complementary hotel offering to their guests.

One of the projects planned under the agreement is the cooperation between the two groups to develop commercial enterprises in international markets, promotion and mutual support at events and trade fairs.

According Malco Par, CEO of Majestic Hotel Group, “this agreement is a creative initiative to improve our resources with an important partner in a market as important as Italy, which represents one of the major customers for Majestic Hotel Group. SINA hotels have many similarities with Majestic Hotel Group, as they are both family businesses which offer high quality services in their hotels”.  The agreement between Majestic Hotel Group and Sina Hotels will last until May 2013.
