Accor opens first low cost hotel in Malaga

Accor hotels has opened its first low cost hotel in Malaga offering a new concept in accommodation in Spain. The hotel is right in the centre of the city and has 125 rooms with rates starting at just 39€ per night.

The chain now has four hotels in Malaga: a four-star Novotel, two Ibis hotels and this new Etap hotel, a new concept in accommodation that “does not belong to any star system”. In addition, Accor hotels also have plans to open the first Suite Novotel in Spain in the city.

Although the new hotel has only been given one star by the Andalusian government the hotel chain maintains that it cannot be evaluated along traditional lines and should not be associated with hostel-type accommodation. In fact, it represents a concept increasingly widespread among hotels in Spain, with a minimalist design that is already popular in other cities in Spain such as Granada, Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Bilbao and Gerona.

This hotel is aimed mainly at international guests who are already aware of this type of establishment. In fact, there are already over 380 Etap hotels spread across countries like Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Holland and Switzerland.

The Etap Malaga hotel offers customers Internet access via wifi in the rooms and there is also a car park. Hotel guests will have a choice for breakfast with a variety of healthy products for only 3.90€.
